Event Details

The main street in Dayboro – ‘The Town of Yesteryear’ – comes alive every year on the last Sunday in May for the Dayboro Day Festival, incorporating the Antique & Collectables Fair at the Dayboro Memorial Showgrounds.

The Dayboro District Progress Association Inc has been planning, organising and sponsoring this day for 29 years.

The festival just gets bigger and better each year.  Being first held in 1991, this festival now attracts over 20,000 visitors to our beautiful country town yearly.

Attractions and activities include:

  • Antique & Collectables Fair
  • Combined Church Service
  • Kids ‘Passport to Fun’
  • Street parade
  • Official opening & awards ceremonies
  • Waterless raft race
  • Pineapple pie-eating competition
  • All-day live entertainment
  • Homemade jams, lollies and cakes many made by local groups
  • Heaps of craft stalls
  • White elephant stall
  • A massive book stall operated by our Dayboro Scouts
  • Grocery Wheel run by Dayboro State School
  • Dayboro Historical Society display
  • Animal Nursery
  • Emergency Services displays
  • Local blacksmiths in action
  • Rides for the children and many more attractions

There are heaps of food stalls, and these are backed up by our local shops such as:

  • Dayboro Village Meats
  • The Dayboro Bakery
  • Rendezvous at Dayboro
  • The Dayboro Café
  • Terahs Restaurant
  • The Old Storehouse
  • Mill Creek Cafe

Official Opening & Awards Ceremonies

On this day we also present our Dayboro Community Awards for:

  • ‘Resident of the Year’,
  • ‘Young Achiever’ and
  • ‘Business Recognition’

This is a great honour for the recipients as they are chosen from a great bunch of hard-working people. We invite our Mayor,  our local Councillor, our State Member, and our Federal Member to present the Dayboro Community Awards, which remain a secret right up to their presentation on the day.

The Dayboro District Progress Association Incorporated (DDPAI) is a voluntary, not-for-profit organisation that represents the residents of the district and liaises on their behalf with government agencies, as well as promotes local businesses and organisations.
