Good news—your morning forecast is back!
If you’ve been a Gmail subscriber, you might have opened our daily weather email lately and wondered, “Where did all the numbers go?” You weren’t imagining things. A hidden Gmail rule was quietly chopping out the very sections that tell you the temperature, rain totals and wind speeds.
I know how disappointing it can be to rely on that quick glance each morning—whether you’re planning school runs, gardening or that early-morning tractor run. So here’s a simple, friendly rundown of what happened and how we’ve put everything right.
What You Saw (Or Didn’t)
Blank spaces where the temperature should be
Missing rain totals for today or this week
Tables without any numbers
It looked like someone forgot to fill in your forecast—but in reality, Gmail was trimming our email because it was a bit too “heavy” on little icons, images and styling.
Why It Happened
Gmail limits how much code and images it will happily display. When our newsletter got too big, Gmail quietly removed parts it couldn’t handle, including the important table with all your weather details. Since those tables weren’t loading, you were left staring at empty lines.
How We Fixed It
Lightened the Load
We slimmed down the design—removed extra bits that looked nice but weren’t essential.Kept the Look, Lost the Bulk
We swapped a few fancy images for simpler versions and trimmed unnecessary “behind-the-scenes” code.Built-in Simple Backups
Now, if a fancy part is blocked, you’ll see a plain-text version of each number so nothing goes missing.
After testing on real Gmail accounts, we confirmed that all your temperatures, rain amounts, wind readings and even air-quality numbers show up again.
What You’ll See from Now On
🌡 Temperature & “Feels Like” readings every day
🌧 Rain totals for today, this week and the month
🌬 Wind speeds and directions
🧪 Air quality updates—CO₂, PM2.5 and more
📅 Full 7-day forecast in a neat, easy-to-read table
All right, at the top of your inbox, just as it should be.
