DAYBORO.AU

Hyperlocal weather, community directory, and growing tools for Dayboro and surrounds

What We Do

Dayboro.au is an independent community platform serving the Dayboro district with hyperlocal weather data, a comprehensive business directory, event listings, and smart tools for growers and farmers. We are not affiliated with any local association or government body.

Everything we build is designed for one purpose: giving Dayboro locals information that the big services can't — because they don't have a weather station on the hill, they don't know which plumber is around the corner, and they don't understand our microclimate.

The Weather Station

The Lyndhurst Hill weather station has been collecting weather data in the Dayboro area since 2004. It is a privately owned and funded Ecowitt station operated by one of the HELP4BIS team. The station measures temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, UV index, solar radiation, soil temperature and moisture, leaf wetness, and lightning strikes.

Over the years, we have progressively automated the forecasting process using our own Dayboro Model, combining numerical weather prediction with local pattern analysis and Inigo Jones methodology. The result is a fully automated, hyperlocal forecast system that updates every 2 hours without manual intervention.

Important: Weather information is provided for educational and planning purposes. Always check official sources (Bureau of Meteorology) for severe weather warnings and emergency situations.

The Dayboro Lions Business Directory

The paper-based directory was started by APEX. When APEX in Dayboro stopped, the Lions gratefully took over the Dayboro & District Business Directory. It is the first port of call when locals need goods, services, or trades.

Advertisers' fees, after production expenses of the paper-based directory, support the Dayboro Lions Club's volunteer community services. It is the Lions' major source of fundraising. Please support these advertisers and mention you found them in the directory.

HELP4BIS builds, maintains, and hosts the online directory at no charge to the Dayboro Lions.

Common Questions

How do I list my business?
Business listings are managed by North Pine Printing and the Dayboro Lions. Each September, advertising flyers go out for the paper-based directory. We use that to update listings online. Missed the deadline? No problem — contact North Pine Printing to be included in the online version.
How do I list an event?
Two ways: email all the details to webmaster@dayboro.au, or create a free account and submit your event directly. Both methods are free. Please submit well before your event date — we are volunteers.
Can I update my listing?
Yes. Create a free account, then email webmaster@dayboro.au with your name and listing details. We'll link your listing to your account so you can edit it directly.
Who pays for this?
Dayboro.au is a free service from HELP4BIS and sponsored by Running Duck Studio. The site is funded through donations, merchandise sales, voluntary memberships, and sponsorship. Buy us a coffee if you find it useful.
Is this an official council or government site?
No. Dayboro.au is independently run by HELP4BIS and RDS. There is no affiliation with the Dayboro District Progress Association, Moreton Bay Regional Council, or any other group. All information is collected from online resources, direct messaging, or entered by third parties.
