Melody Graves brings together straight-ahead jazz, hot jazz, and early blues in a fresh, yet timeless sound. Led by vocalist Paula Hackney, the quartet features some of Brisbane’s favourite jazz musicians, taking cues from old New Orleans, small-combo jazz, and the swing era with nods to Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Fats Waller, and the Great American Songbook. With razor-sharp musicianship and serious live edge, Melody Graves has made its mark with standout sets at major festivals and jazz venues across South East Queensland.
