The Inadequates Riotous folk & bluegrass The Inadequates are an award-winning trio known for their innovative acoustic sound and unusual instrumentation. Their soaring old-time country harmonies are backed by instruments including accordion, banjo, guitar, washboard and mandolin. Gaining rapid prominence within the Australian folk scene, they have been likened to bands such as Nickel Creek and Mumford & Sons. In 2017 brothers Jackson and Marcus Church decided to create a band with High School friend (colleague) Lawson Mackriell under the temporary name “The Inadequates.” Fast forward a decade and that project has now taken them all over Australia becoming favourites at a variety of different festivals, and they still haven’t found a better name. With a catalogue of boundary-pushing original music, classic folk and bluegrass, rollicking rock and beautiful close harmonies, this super quirky group are an act not to miss.
