Updates to the site
Over time some erros slipped in and as per usual these need to be fixed. As I was ploughing through the code, we had a nice big thunderstorm coming through which blew the Air sensors right out of the air.
A quick call to my mates in romania and a new one was send up… but lets go through what whas updated.
Opening times
The dayboro lions business and the Events Calendar were using the wrong timezone, this is now fixed so Tuesday is Tuesday and not Monday.
- Events active and times are now on brisbane time.
- Opening hours and times for businesses are now Brisbane Time.
2026 Dayboro Farmers Almanac
I wrote a farmers almanac for 2024, but due to health reasons I did not get around to write one for 2025.
I base the almanac on Inigo Jones and other methods. Some say it is woowoo, yet when challenged they do get stuck in finding issues with it. You most likely seen the odd Fakebook post wher some have a go at my weather predictions. Which is fine… I seen and heard it all in my 30plus years of messing around with weather and climate data.
It is all cycles, not CO2. History shows it, most scientist agree that current temps are not unusual if you look beyond the very very small data set currently used by the IPCC.

Update 27/12/2025
Updated the rain forecasts, I was using the BOM climatology ranges, but I disagree with that because of:
- La Nina pattern continuing
- Bruckner 35-year wet phase active
- Elevated cyclone risk
Updated Garden Buddy
Updated the Growing Vegetables (Vegetable Growing Guide) in Dayboro section, it now displays the latest price details should you want to buy the vegetable. You can also select or search the to 20 vegetables to grow, it gives you guidance on what to plant etc.
- What vegetable to plan or grow.
- When to plant according to the moon calendar.
- Current pest alerts. and of course
- Medium and long term forecasts.
The growing advice given is based upon the medium and long term forecast, for example if we think it is going to be a very very wet summer we likely downgrade the score for vegetables that are subjecte to lots of rain.
Don’t forget our Grow today and save calculator.
17/12/2025
Updated to show the actual veggies that are recommended. Also included intelligent planting which means that based upon the future weather forecst 30 plus we set a planting recommendation.
Dayboro Weather Buddy
New look and feel to the dayboro weather buddy. I decided it was not “rocking by boat” so with a few hrs spare I recoded most of it.
- Icon animation
- More frequent updates.
- Graphs showing last 24hrs
- Temparture
- Humidity
- Wind
- Pressure
- Rain
Evening Marketing Report
Fix 26/12/2025
One of the workflow items caused an error, which in return stopped the script from completing. I think I have that fixed now.
Vegetable Price Data (Top Movers)
Email showed wrong vegetables using stale Dec 21 data.
- Plum +70.2% (wrong) Actually Peach +38.52% is top riser.
- Peach -70.9% (wrong) actually Watermelon -48.08% is top faller.
- Rice unit was wrong, USD per CWT, is actually USD Cents per hunderdweight.
Australian 5 year running forecast
Every month I create a Australian 5 year running forecast using several methods. This can be quite complex and I found an error with it. It was not updating because it was calling a wrong model script. It should be working now.
Dayboro 30 day forecast
I had the forecast for QLD as a whole, and as we now know, it was correct, given the flooding up north. However, that was too generic, hence I now tuned the Inigo Jones forecast for Dayboro and the SEQ region.
Check it out, Dayboro 30-day forecast.
